          Redbus.in was founded by three engineers -- Phanindra Sama, Charan Padmaraju and Sudhakar Pasupunuri -- who studied together at the BITS, Pilani, and later worked in various companies in Bangalore.
                   Phanindra Sama, the chief executive officer of redBus.in, Last year Phanindra became the second entrepreneur from India to join Endeavor, a non-profit organization started by the Harvard alumni.
It was started in August 2006 with a few seats from one bus operator, redBus today is one of the most successful online bus ticket booking agencies. Today, it has 700 bus operators, 10,000 buses listed on it, works in 15 states and sells around 5,000 tickets every day.
How red bus started :
When an agent gets a customer, he calls a bus operator to find out whether there are tickets available. The operator looks at the chart and tells him the number of vacant seats.
Suppose there are hundreds of buses from 30 operators running from Bangalore to Hyderabad, the agents do not have access to all the operators.
The number of agents a bus operator can have is limited as he needs to identify all by phone. The agents also have only a limited number of operators to work with. Then, the customers cannot always choose the seats as there is no transparency.
Another problem is, as the fares are not published, there is no fixed fare for the customer.
But the major The problem was booking return tickets. Every time you went home, you had to call someone and ask them to book the return tickets from there.
At that time, traveling from Bangalore to Hyderabad was like traveling between two countries.

Ola owned by ANI technologies Pvt. Ltd. Formarly known as OlaCabs, it was started in Dec 2010 by 2 IIT Bombay graduates. Ola serves as an efficient taxi aggregator [now they have got in to bike and cycles too] and bridge the gap between cab owners and commuters.
Instead of buying and renting out their own cars, Ola partners with a number of taxi drivers and owners, add a touch of modern technology to the whole set up, where people could book cars at short notice through their app. In Spanish, Hola translates to ‘Hello’ hence the name Ola probably to indicate that their services are as easy and friendly as that, just like saying a ‘hello’.
          Ola is India’s homegrown ride-hailing app with about 60% market share in India with users across over 110 cities of India and 10 lakh driver-partners. Driven by a hyperlocal approach, Ola is committed to its mission of building mobility for a billion people.
How OLA started :
          Bhavish had to travel from Bangalore to bandipur, for which he rented out a car, which ended in a very bad experience. The driver stopped the car in the middle of the journey and demanded a renegotiation of what Bhavish was paying. After being refused, he proceeded to abandon him en route his destination. This is when he realized how his plight was probably similar to a lot of customers across the country who were looking for a quality cab services.
          For the first time, he saw the amount of potential that an extraordinary cab booking service could have, and hence, he changed his business from his earlier start-up to the one we today know as – OlaCabs.

The company has made booking tickets easier than never before. However, the journey of the company from its inception until now has not been easy.


Revenue model 

Ticketing revenue: This is the topmost source of revenue which contribute around 60% of the total revenue. This comes from internet handling fees and commission on ticket booking. The company charges a convenience fee over and above the price of the tickets. That is what Book My Show keeps. As far as the non-movie event is concerned, Book My Show gets a commission as a part of tickets.

Non-ticketing revenue: Advertising and promotion Any company which wants to promote their artwork of films and short films can approach Book My Show to give them an “interest creation” boost with the online audience. Book My Show can take advantage of their huge page views to promote these new artists and their offerings. Once a ticket has been paid for, it is deemed sold. Now, It can neither be replaced nor canceled.


How Book My Show started

           While he was sitting under a tree and listening to radio promoting Rugby tickets, an idea struck his mind. He researched his idea, understood the market and contemplated a strategy. He then came back to India, quit his job immediately and decided to start his own company. At the age of 24, he launched his first-ever internet venture “Bigtree Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.” with his head office being his bedroom. Soon after, he persuaded his friends Rajesh Balpande and Parikshit Dar to join the company. Parikshit took over technology and Rajesh handled finance. Soon the trio began their journey together as entrepreneurs and led the way forward for Bigtree Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.
